Open-F@b Call4Ideas 2018, focusing on Positive Impact Innovation, has reached its closing round: once the collection of applications has been completed, great excitement lies now in the final event, scheduled for November 29th in Milan, where the 10 finalist projects selected by BNP Paribas Cardif can be officially shown and will have a chance to win the call.
Positive Impact Innovation is now a very topical issue increasingly catching the interest of companies and start-ups in the for-profit sector. The combination of ethical and responsible investments, whose effects are positive for the community and at the same time achieve business results, is a possible path in all industries, including insurance, bringing benefits to stakeholders at an economic and social level.
For this reason, BNP Paribas Cardif, in its fifth edition of Open-F@b Call4Ideas in collaboration with InsuranceUp, has chosen to dedicate the international contest to the Positive Impact Innovation concept. A winning choice: 129 applications received, 94 from Italy and 35 from abroad, mainly from Germany, USA, UK and Canada.
Addressed to startups, scaleups, innovative companies and entrepreneurs, as well as to young people, students and in general to anyone wishing to submit an innovative idea or a solution likely to have a positive impact on the community, the call required the presentation of intervention projects in a number of areas of interest: from health protection and wellbeing to the improvement of people’ lives; from education to risk management to the development of an ethical and sustainable economy; from corporate welfare to new ideas for smart and eco-friendly cities, up to the protection of the most “vulnerable” subjects facing dangers such as children, women and the elderly.
BNP Paribas Group, one of the top 100 companies worldwide supporting sustainable development projects, is investing heavily at a global level: in 2017 the Group allocated 155 billion to finance solutions and initiatives directly contributing to the achievement of the 17 UN sustainable development objectives.
Winners will be given the opportunity to be supported by BNP Paribas Cardif’s Marketing R&D team in the development and implementation of their idea or project, according to business and market needs.
Furthermore, all finalists may submit the startup profile to the MEDICI database, an American advisory and scouting company specialized in insurtech and fintech startups worldwide, and partner of the initiative, receiving a set of dedicated marketing services. Moreover, they can present their own pitch deck to C. Entrepreneurs, the venture capital fund created by BNP Paribas Cardif in partnership with Cathay Innovation to accelerate the Company’s innovation through investments in early stage startups and to include the profile of the startup in Scoop, the open innovation platform of BNP Paribas International Financial Services used by the Group companies to share, manage and promote cooperation with the startups.
Well, see you in Milan on November 29th to discover which Positive Impact Innovation projects BNP Paribas Cardif will consider worthy and in line with its expectations.
