” Our challenge is to integrate these solutions into insurance carrier models “. Simone Macelloni, Head of R&D at BNP Paribas Cardif, commented on the conclusion of the AI WorkLab incubation project carried out by LVentureGroup and promoted jointly with several companies, including BNL – BNP Paribas Group and BNP Paribas Cardif.

10 startup projects out of 220 applications were selected for the program. Nine of them have been able to “profitably” complete the incubation period and present their projects, all carried out in specific sectors related to artificial intelligence: InsurTech, Document & Data Management, Customer Behaviour, Cybersecurity. Selected projects for AI WorkLab have received a grant and followed a three-month path that, through the operational support of the experts team of LVenture Group and LUISS ENLABS and partner companies, turned innovative ideas into real business projects. Below the list.

1 –  AI Med is a voice assistant for healthcare that, on the basis of data collected through IOTs and wearable devices processed by the AI engine, alerts people to possible future illnesses;

2 – Getcoo developed DART (Direct Acquisition and ReTrieval), a proprietary artificial intelligence technology for Content-Based Image Retrieval (CBIR) that compared to competing solutions identifies specific objects rather than categories;

3 – MultiplAI uses AI technology in the healthcare sector, focusing on the complex integration of cross-modal data to create new insights and confidently identify which therapies and medicines will deliver the most effective results for each patient;

4 –  MyMedReport is an encrypted cloud platform efficiently connected with the user, private analysis lab and physician who provides a comprehensive and smart management service of blood analysis;

5 –  Pigro offers virtual assistants for customer care, answering up to 70% of requests without any human intervention, recovering the answers from existing data sets;

6 –  Priya is the first multisensory device equipped with AI that takes care of children from the first days of life, continuously monitoring their wellbeing condition and promptly alerting parents in case of need with detailed alerts, in real time, on the smartphone;

7 –  Secretairy is a chatbot allowing to receive customized reports directly through messages or emails, thus improving the efficiency of companies;

8 –  TrueYou provides accurate psychometric analysis of users’ personalities, using their social profiles effectively matching compliant personalities and thus helping to have more meaningful and unbiased interactions;

9 –  Verse is a platform using crowdsourcing and blockchain to enable each AI to learn to talk more fairly and efficiently, providing people with ownership of their work and companies with essential tools to create better artificial intelligence.

“We are particularly satisfied by the potential reached by the selected startups. This project proves how the topic is fundamental for the competitiveness of companies”, says Luigi Capello, CEO of LVenture Group and Founder of LUISS ENLABS.

Collaboration with large companies is essential. “BNP Paribas Cardif’s open innovation model, allowing us to create a network of ongoing relationships with startup, technology players and partners, such as LuissEnlabs, aims primarily at the success of each innovation opportunity”, explains Simone Macelloni, Head of R&D at BNP Paribas Cardif. «Success means the ability to integrate new solutions into the most traditional models and culture of an insurance company, introducing new “mechanisms” of insurtech startups in our business drivers, being careful not to slow down the former or make the latter creak». “Commitment of our partners has been essential”, said Augusto Coppola, Managing Director of LUISS ENLABS. “thanks to their ability to identify support opportunities for these projects”.
