Innovators have until October 17 to submit their ideas to Open-F@b Call4Ideas 2016, the pan-European contest organised by BNP Paribas Cardif, one of the top ten companies in the Italian market, in collaboration with InsuranceUp.it, the first Italian website dedicated to digital innovation and entrepreneurship in the insurance industry, and PoliHub, the Startup District & Incubator of the Polytechnic University of Milan.

Applications are open from anyone who has an innovative idea (startups, technology providers, professionals, developers, students, etc.), Open-F@b Call4Ideas 2016 is an open innovation project, launched for the first time in 2014, with the aim of identifying the best technological and digital startups and develop partnerships with them. This year, prizes will be awarded to the three best ideas which can improve the Customer Experience of policy holders during every stage of the process (pre-sales, sales, after-sales/care), and innovate the relationship between customers and insurance companies. In particular, the contest will seek ideas, projects, apps and prototypes which use digital services, social networks and gamification in the field of family, home, health and mobility protection in every sense of the word. As such, it is about finding solutions that facilitate an efficient digitalisation of the relationship but which are also based on the Internet of Things and on Big Data. With the ultimate goal of improving the client’s customer experience

Customer Experience is a crucial theme for the insurance sector. In fact, according to the World Insurance Report 2016, more than one client out of two claims to be dissatisfied with the relationship they have with their insurance company. This discontent is significantly stronger among Millennials (66%), the 18-to-34-year-old generation who have grown up in the digital era and consistently seek web-based services and smart and social ways to interact: three out of ten claim to use social media for insurance needs at least once a month. As such, in this quickly changing world, BNP Paribas Cardif wants to listen to the needs of younger people and invest in solutions that make its clients’ Customer Experience unique.

The creators of the best ten projects – selected by a committee consisting of BNP Paribas Group and BNP Paribas Cardif executives, academic professionals in the field of digital technologies and experts – will be supported for about a month by BNP Paribas Cardif managers, who will mentor them in order to develop their project, according to the specific needs of the market and of the company. All ten finalists will then present their projects during a public event, held on November 29 in Milan, during which the winning three most innovative projects will be decided by the judging committee.

BNP Paribas Cardif will support the winners to achieve their business goals by giving them the chance to create a prototype and market their product in Italy and abroad, thanks to the support of the company’s managers and internal R&D department. Applications must be received through the online registration form, where the Regulations and Privacy Policy are also available.
