Ping An, China’s insurance giant and tenth on Forbes’ list of the world’s largest listed companies, has entered into a collaboration agreement with SingularityNET, a Dutch startup implementing a decentralized artificial intelligence platform based on Ethereum. According to a SingularityNET press release, the partnership will focus on three main areas: OCR (optical recognition of writing), Computer Vision and artificial intelligence learning models for application to business clusters.
Details on the partnership between Ping An and SingularityNET
“The size of Ping An offers considerable opportunities to reveal the benefits of artificial intelligence. We are currently considering how to integrate SingularityNET’s infrastructure with Ping An’s IT infrastructure so that we can analyze all available data. In general, successful artificial intelligence applications require at least four elements: AI algorithms, data, computing power and human perception of the problem. We have plenty of all four between SingularityNET and Ping An, therefore I’m sure we’ll be able to have a great deal together”, said SingularityNET CEO Ben Goertzel in the note.
Moreover, Ping An Good Doctor, a branch of Ping An’s healthcare sector, has already made private, staffless clinics run by artificial intelligence called “One Minute Clinics” available in 8 Chinese cities. The aim of the partnership with the Dutch startup therefore seems to be, by the way, to expand both the competitiveness and the widening of this project’s network. Once again according to Goertzel “our partnership will be considered an important milestone in the democratic development of artificial intelligence”, decentralizing it thanks to the SingularityNET platform. The platform consists of a decentralized AI marketplace and was launched in beta-version just a month ago.
