In its first edition, Bestest, InTribe, Transactionale, WorkWideWomen were the startups set up by women who won the participation in the first Italian acceleration program dedicated to female startups and innovative SMEs promoted by Digital Magics with BNP Paribas.

MIA – Miss In Action, is the name of this program to support female entrepreneurship, has been re-launched again this year: until February 2020 it will be possible to apply online on the dedicated website: www.missinaction.it. The Call is aimed exclusively at Italian startups and SMEs consisting of a mostly female team.

The range of sectors of interest is quite wide and includes smart home, smart mobility, open banking, CSR, welfare, well-being, insurtech, banking, investments, real estate and fintech; at technology level the focus is on analytics, artificial intelligence, cloud, machine learning, blockchain, smart data.

Among all the applications received by February 2, 2020, 10 innovative and high-tech startups will be shortlisted, having the opportunity to present their projects, during the Innovation Day on March 3, 2020, where a committee, consisting of Digital Magics, the BNP Paribas Group and an all-female jury of top managers, entrepreneurs and business angels, will select the 3 best startups getting access to the Acceleration Program and support them in the execution of their idea until the “go to market” phase.

Acceleration program

The acceleration path, scheduled to take place in Milan at Digital Magics, includes as a first step an in-depth assessment phase to better support startups in their growth process. Subsequently, KPIs will be agreed upon, to be reached by the startups with the support of a team of experts. These KPIs will be planned with the aim of consolidating the business model and the technology used to deliver the service or product.

A training program will also be created in half-day workshops on areas useful for the development of the startups identified for the acceleration path. After the acceleration phase, the MVP phase is planned. During this second phase, the startups will work directly with the BNP Paribas Group, with the aim of developing a service and/or product prototype that can eventually be integrated into the BNP Paribas Group offer. At the end of the acceleration programme, there will be a final event to present the projects carried out.
